The Faces of “Slice”: Meet the Cast
Slice is a 15-minute horror short film written and directed by Nan Mason. Inspired by the frustrations of late-stage capitalism in America, Slice tells the story of Laine, a struggling college student, who finds herself entangled with a predatory snuff film producing “family” when she agrees to take up a dog sitting gig. What was supposed to be an opportunity to make some quick cash quickly spirals into a night of depravity and death.
Slice will be the official debut from WORM BOY PRODUCTIONS, and is scheduled to be entering festivals late 2026 through 2027.
BRITTANY VILLELA as “LAINE”
Brittany Villela is a Mexican-American writer and filmmaker based in Rose City. Her career in the arts began at Sunset High School when she joined the Thespian Society and trained with Hollywood Lights. She graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Film. During college she focused on creative writing and working with Rooster Teeth. She has also worked on Academy Award winning Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio as an additional gaffer. Recently, she has been busy editing and finishing her upcoming debut novel.
AKITORA ISHII as “PIZZA BOY”
Akitora Ishii is a Japanese-American actor based in Portland. Outside of screen work, he has a background in experimental theatre, having trained with local devising company PETE after graduating from PSU.
Recent stage credits include the original show ENDURANCE the boat, the show and In a Different Reality She’s Clawing at the Walls at Shaking the Tree Theatre.
He is represented in Portland by Dangerfield Talent.
ROBERT BEST as “DADDY-O”
Robert Best began acting later in life after having 2 careers as an Army Officer and then a Business & Financial Planner & Consultant. Initially performing on stage in Corvallis, Eugene, Portland and Oregon State University he has recently began performing in film & television.
Shows include: BOY, INHERIT THE WIND, THE PRICE, JAGATH, THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT, BECKY'S NEW CAR, and many others.
He dedicates every performance to his kids: Hannah & Bryndyn.
NORA SKAI as “KITTEN”
Nora Skai is an actor and musician based in Oregon. Nora has studied acting at the University of Oregon, and has been in several bands as a frontman, guitarist, and bass player. While Nora has worked on several smaller productions, Slice is considered to be her debut film.
